I have travelled up and down Lapworth flight many times. At the lock just above the midway moorings there is a small basin where these boats moored. They always fascinated me - even in their slightly decrepit state. Wooden boats are a rare thing on the canals nowadays compared to their steel brothers, and the weathering on them enhanced their interest and showed their layered history.
