During a hard day of locking up the Stourbridge flight with our Motor & Butty, I paused to take in the view (and catch my breath). We had just passed Dadfords Shed where we had purchased our Butty Lowry from, and had a brief hello with Dave Harris who built her out of an old Alfred Matty Day Boat and another odd part of a BW boat that was lying around!! This is one of those moments as a boater you appreciate – the hard labour of working a flight of locks, to turn around and appreciate the view and to see the progress you have made. Still with locks to go, you enjoy the work, but also the prospect of tying up for the day for a well earned rest and a cup of tea.
