The global pandemic really changed a lot of things for us. We had to adapt and change things. We took over running an artist canvas making company full time. It was a huge decision for us but we think its worth it.

HM Canvases Ltd (formally known as Harris Moore Canvases) became ours November 2021 and its been on hard work.  We had to move from it premises in Birmingham Digbeth due to the congestion charge zone and because of redevelopment in the area for Hs2.

It took us an age to find suitable premises, every time we went for a viewing and liked a place, the agent would tell us that it had gone! We got there and finally found a new home at Watery lane Industrial estate Wolverhampton. Just down the way from where we currently moor our boat.

It took a good six months to get everything running smoothly, it meant I (Ali) had to put a lot of DV designs on the back burner as I had my hands full sorting the production and manufacturing for HM Canvases. Well I am an Engineer by profession so it was natural I took on the role of production manager while Lou (the other half of DV Designs) runs the financial and Stretching of canvases. DV has had to change, we have decided to make it more about Artwork and our creations. We are still doing laser cutting but it will only be bespoke work. We will no longer be mass producing wooden craft shapes for sale. Check out our bespoke Laser cutting page for info on what we do.
